Opening Weekend Volunteers Needed & Additional Details

By admin · February 25, 2009 · Filed in Latest News · No Comments »

To All Parents and Helpers of Land O’ Lakes Little League:

We need you to please get involved either on opening night or opening day.  Here is our Volunteer Spreadsheet with times for Friday and Saturday.  If you cannot volunteer at the time that is listed, please let me know.  We have a lot of other times available.  You just need to take 1 hour out of your busy schedule and help up out.  Keep in mind if there no one to man the Jimmy Jumpers they will be shut down. That is not fair to the kids that are looking forward to this, it is also not fair to the parents that have spent their hard earned money on the arm band.

Please help, it is for the kids.

To All Team Parents:

Please review with your parents once you have gathered your 3 helpers and bring your form to either concession so it can be placed on the master copy.  If your team is not on it, please check in on opening night to see where your help is needed.  Raffle tickets are available at either concession stand.  Armbands are also available for $10 at either concession stand.

Opening Ceremonies (Friday) – All children must be in Full Uniform with Caps/Visors (no cups)

* 5:30-7:30pm – Complete meals provided by Texas Roadhouse–see our website for menu
* 6:00-7:30pm – Jumps/Slides
* 7:30pm – All players must meet the Managers at Field #10 for line-up. The Managers and Coach are the only ones allowed on the field. Parents may walk their child to the gate, but will not be able to go any further.
* 8:00pm – Ceremony begins

How the Raffle works:

There will be a bag by each one of these items and you will place your tickets in the bag of the prize that you would like to try to win

So when you purchase these raffle tickets hold on to both pieces until opening night and you will place  the ticket with your name and phone # on it in the bag of your choice.  Anybody who still wants to donate items for the raffle, please let me know.

Here are some of the raffle prizes so far:

3, 4-pack to Busch Garden Tickets

Concession trainings are finally here…

Anyone 13 (prior to February 1st) or over interested in working the concession for the Spring Little League season must attend a training prior to being able to work.  You must also be a player in the league or have a sibling that plays in the league.  Trainings will be held on Thursday, February 19th, Tuesday, February 24th and Wednesday, February 25th at the old concession stand.  You only need to attend one day.  You must email me a date that works for you and we’ll arrange the time.  The training takes approximately 30-45 minutes and you must be signed up to attend.

No trainings will be held after these dates.

Please email me at kellis18@verizon.net if you are interested.

Thank You,

Kerry Ellis
Concession Manager

Field Status for Sat – 01/31/09

Due to the level of rain we have received, the field status for Saturday, 1/31 is as follows:

Fields 1 – 6 will be CLOSED
Fields 7 – 10 will be OPEN

Fields Closed Tonight – 01/30/09

By admin · January 30, 2009 · Filed in Latest News · No Comments »

The county has closed the fields and all of tonight’s practices are cancelled. They are keeping an eye on the fields and will let me know if we will be able to practice tomorrow.

If this weather continues it is likely tomorrow will be canceled as well since the fields will not have time to drain and dry. We will make a decision later today about tomorrow’s practices.

The team mom meetings scheduled for tonight and tomorrow will go on as planned.
